Position or posture of the body appropriate to or expressive of an action, emotion, etc; a threatening attitude: a relaxed attitude. 3. Aeron, the inclination of the three principal axes of an aircraft relative to the wind, to the ground, etc. 4. Ballet, a pose in which the dancer stand on one leg, the other bent behind.
I started with the definition of attitude because I wanted to put this article in the right meaning. A Christian must have an attitude in manner, disposition, feeling, position in their lives. So I am referring to the first definition of the meaning of attitude. This post will explore all aspects of a Christian’s manner, disposition, feel as well as position. We will also explore the negative as well as the position effects of attitude in a Christian life. Most people when they are referring to a people’s attitude they are talking about their outlook on a situation or life in general. Your attitude affects your behavior in such a way that you may create an outcome from the situation be it negative or positive.
The person has to be careful regarding the effects of your behavior. An example of this would be a person has gotten some very bad news about an important situation they may find themselves experiencing. Let’s say they were supposed to get a promotion at their job but it just didn’t happen. Your behavior or your reaction to this news could determine any future advancement of this job. One might be angry or upset that you didn’t get that promotion you believe you were qualified for, but that is when your faith should play a role. The Christian should always be thankful for their situation regardless how bad or terrible the news they would receive. Why, because of there an old saying in the Christian church… `the lord may not come when you need him but is always on time`…. This means that you have to wait on the Lord to bless you sometimes. Let see what the bible says about waiting on the Lord in Isaiah 40:31….”but those who wait on the lord shall renew their strength; They shall mount up with wings like eagles; They shall run and not be weary, They shall walk and not faint….. Waiting on the Lord should make a Christian stronger but there is another important aspect on waiting on the Lord. Waiting on the Lord will strengthen your character. God could be preparing you for something even greater that what you asked for. There are times in our lives when we are not ready for God’s mercy or blessing. Your attitude may not be right with God because of your negative behavior always complaining or being impatience with your situation. The person who is patience and is willing to have faith in God, God will be gracious to you; for it stated in Isaiah 30:18…..Therefore the Lord will wait, that He may be gracious to you; And therefore He will be exalted that he may have mercy on you. For the Lord is a God of justice; Blessed are all those who wait for Him”…..
There are two examples I would like to give as proof about how patience or impatience will affect you. One example is a person who won a million dollars playing the lotto in their state, but a year later they are broke. They were truly blessed to have that money, but what did they really do with the money they received. Some people think that if they had all that kind of money their lives would be a lot easier. But with money comes responsibility. How will you use that money? Will you invest that money? Will make the right investment with that money? Will you just spend all of that money? The person that has the wrong attitude or behavior will with their money will never profit in the long run. The fact is what will do with that kind of blessing if God granted to you. God knows your heart or intent and through his mercy He blesses you. The other example is a person who wanted a raise at their job. So they prayed for that raise to happen. They truly believe they would get that raise because they were patience and willing to wait on the Lord. They got the raise as well as a promotion on their job. This was all because they had faith in the Lord. They didn’t boast about their promotion. They just gave the Lord all the praise. Even for the non-believer that is what is in store for you once you commit your life to Christ. Jesus talks about having the right attitude with regards to God blessing when he tells the “The Parable of the Talents,” in Matthew 25:14-29….. “For the Kingdom of heaven is like a man traveling to a far country, who called his own servants and delivered his goods to them. And one he gave five talents, to another two and another one to each according to his ability: and immediately he went on his journey. Then he who had received the five talents went and traded with them and made another five talents. And likewise, he who had received two gained two more also. But he who had received one went and dug in the ground, and hid his lord’s money. After a long time, the lord of those servants came and settled accounts with them. `So her who had received five talents came and brought five other talents; look I have gained five more talents besides them. His lord said to him, `Well done good and faithful servant; you were faithful over a few things, I will make you ruler over many things. Enter into the joy of your Lord. He also who had received two talents came and said, Lord, you delivered to me two talents; look I have gained two more talents besides them; His lord said to him, `well done good and faithful servant; you have been faithful over a few things, I will make ruler over many things. Enter into the joy your Lord’ “than he who received the one talent came and said, `Lord, I knew you to be a hard man, reaping where you have not sown, and gathering where you have not scattered seed. And I was afraid and went and hid your talent in the ground. Look there you have what is yours’ But his lord answered and said to him `You wicked and lazy servant, you knew that I reap where I have not sown, and gather where I have not scattered seed. So you ought to have deposited my money with the bankers and at my coming, I would have received back with interest. Therefore take the talent from him and give it to him who has ten talents.’ For to everyone who has more will be given and he will have abundance; but from him who does not have, even what he has will be taken away. And cast the unprofitable servant into the outer darkness. There will be weeping and be gnashing of teeth.”
We often complain about some situations we faced in our lives. But the Christian with the right attitude never complains about their situation. All the Christian with an Attitude does is turn that problem or situation over to God and wait on the Lord to handle it. Why do I proclaim the Christian with an Attitude? The Christian with an Attitude never quits on anything because they believe they will be victorious. The Christian with an Attitude doesn’t have problems just setbacks which will only last for a time. The Christian with an Attitude is patience and has faith in all situations. The Christian with an Attitude will always exalt God because they know God will prevail in loneliness, cancer or sickness, marriage, or relationships, money or their career. This is only God’s love, grace, and mercy because God loves us so much. The Christian with an Attitude has a special relationship with God. What is your attitude in your life?
